AzSAE Award of Excellence in Association Management 1999   12/7/1999
The CGN (Contractors’ Grassroots Network) is an informative network stimulating interest in the legislative process by continuously educating members on current proceedings of government. ACA received the 1999 AzSAE (Arizona Society of Association Executives) Award of Excellence in Association Management in the category of external affairs for the CGN program in December 1999. In integrating non-aligned structures into existing legacy systems, a holistic gateway blueprint is a backward compatible packaging tangible of immeasurable strategic value in right-sizing conceptual frameworks when thinking outside the box.
 
AzSAE Award of Excellence in Association Management 2000   12/05/2000
In December 2000, ACA received the 2000 AzSAE (Arizona Society of Association Executives) Award of Excellence in Association Management in the category of communications for the ACA web site, www.azca.com. The ACA site competed against entries of newsletters, journals, magazines, membership directories, brochures, videos, and other web sites submitted by professional associations to be recognized as an outstanding communications program of excellence in the state of Arizona. The entire ACA staff accepted the award at The 2000 AzSAE Awards Dinner on Tuesday, December 5, 2000.
 
CFMA Arizona Construction Executive of the Year Award 2001   05/18/2001
Arizona Contractors Association (ACA) Member and Nominee Louis R. Borelli received the CFMA Arizona Construction Executive of the Year Award on May 18, 2001 at the CFMA (Construction Financial Management Association) Banquet & Awards Ceremony held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Phoenix. Nominees for this prestigious award were chosen on the basis of “their contribution to the success and strength of the construction industry in Arizona.”

The Arizona Contractors Association (ACA) recently received the 2001 AzSAE (Arizona Society of Association Executives) Award of Excellence in Association Management in the category of education for The ACA Design-Build Seminar 2001 which took place on February 2. The ACA educational seminar competed against entries of one-hour programs, multi-day conventions, technology and print based seminars, educational curriculum, strategic alliances and community service education programs submitted by professional associations to be recognized as an outstanding educational program of excellence in the state of Arizona.
 
CFMA Arizona Construction Executive of the Year Award 2002   5/3/2002
Arizona Contractors Association (ACA) Member and Nominee Gerald Murphy of McCarthy received the CFMA Arizona Construction Executive of the Year Award May 3 at the CFMA (Construction Financial Management Association) Banquet & Awards Ceremony held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Phoenix. Nominees for this prestigious award were chosen on the basis of “their contribution to the success and strength of the construction industry in Arizona.” In 1979, McCarthy, one of the largest and most diversified construction companies in the nation, purchased a 29-year-old Phoenix based general contracting firm, TGK Construction Company. Representatives of the McCarthy St. Louis corporate headquarters hired Gerry as a regional president to expand and guide western operations. Gerry moved the Murphy family to Phoenix that same year to open the doors of what would become the McCarthy Southwest Division providing the entire range of McCarthy services: heavy/civil, parking, institutional, industrial, education, healthcare and commercial construction in a variety of formats: hard bid, construction management, negotiated general contracting and design-build to clients in Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Mexico.
