Standing CommitteesIf you are an AZCA member and interested in serving on any of the following committees, please contact AZCA: azca@azca.com Executive Committee -- This committee consists of the AZCA State Board officers and is designed to direct, oversee and assure compliance to AZCA operations, policies and procedures, bylaws, and goals. Economic Development Committee (EDC) -- The Economic Development Committee (EDC) of the Arizona Construction Association is a proactive entity; assisting key economic developers create, retain and expand businesses in Arizona. Through communications with local economic developers, the EDC assists in providing conceptual cost estimates and help explain advantages in utilizing alternative construction delivery methods. In addition, the committee keeps participants informed of leading developments from across the state. Ideal participants include: contractor presidents and chief executive officers, owners, business development professionals, developers, government economic developers, architects and anyone who is engaged in the economic development community. Legislative/Governmental Affairs Committee -- Your legislative watchdog. This committee develops and maintains productive relationships with elected and appointed governmental officials and agencies to further the goals of the association. The committee reports the progress of proposed legislation, which directly affects AZCA members and the construction industry as a whole to the AZCA Board of Directors. AZCA Political Action Committee (AZCAPAC) -- The decisions of Arizona elected officials affect your business, you and your family. Do you want to have some input on who is elected and show your support of those candidates who are sensitive to your business concerns and those of the construction industry? The objectives of the AZCAPAC are to make our views known, to help elect those who support our views and to continue to provide input on issues so that the ultimate votes appropriately reflect our concerns. This is a circle of commitment which provides ongoing communications to policymakers and elected officials to ensure a healthy environment for all. Membership Committee -- Membership is the lifeblood of all associations and AZCA is no exception. In order to remain effective, AZCA needs the strength members provide. To that end, new member recruitment is an ongoing effort. The membership committee is responsible for planning and executing membership drives to serve this purpose. The committee also functions as a liaison to existing members regarding their needs and wants for the association. This committee assures that you will receive the kinds of information and activities most beneficial for assisting you in making your business a success.
